1. Introduction
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is accelerating the tactical capability of the military more than ever before. Many new combat and weapons systems utilize embedded AI, making them more efficient and less dependent on human operation.
Furthermore, SWaP (Reduced Size, Weight, and Power) requirements are also impacting artificial intelligence design. Now and in the future, many military systems will be susceptible to SWaP-constraints, which challenge the assumptions of today’s AI solutions.
7Starlake excels in designing unparalleled military computers for harsh environments. From polar regions to the desert, from jungle environments to high altitude, 7Starlake’s rugged computers have the capability to withstand the operational environment. Tested to MIL-STD standards exacting levels of conformity, 7Starlake products can operate at full capacity in extreme conditions. 7Starlake believes in meeting 100% of our customers’ expectations for the design, quality of build, and customer service levels in the supply of rugged and custom-built computer systems.
As the leading provider of AI Inference GPU Systems, 7Starlake proudly launches HORUS430 to meet growing market demand for NVIDIA GPU-accelerated computing in AI applications. HORUS430 is a combination of stunning inference performance, powerful Intel 9th Gen Xeon®/Core™ up to 6 cores, and expansion capability. HORUS430 is also a SWaP-optimized 2U Rack-Mounted GPGPU, proving the perfect ruggedized platform for versatile edge AI applications.
2. Technology Highlight
2-1 Stunning Graphics - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 and RTX 5000
NVIDIA, CUDA® is a parallel computing platform and programming model developed by NVIDIA for general computing on graphics processing units (GPUs). With CUDA, developers are able to dramatically speed up computing applications by harnessing the power of GPUs. In GPU-accelerated applications, the sequential part of the workload runs on the CPU – which is optimized for single-threaded performance – while the compute intensive portion of the application runs on thousands of GPU cores in parallel. HORUS430 can be equipped with GeForce GTX1080 Mobile or Quadro RTX5000.
2-2 The Front-Tier Supercomputing & Acceleration : Intel® XEON E-2276M and Intel® Core i7-9850HE
The 8th generation Intel® Xeon® processor E-2100M family and Intel® Core™ processor family (Coffee Lake H) introduce the first 6-core processors for performance-demanding applications. The H-series processors offer thermal design power (TDP) options of 45W (with 35W TDP- down) for an exceptional balance of power and performance.
2-3 SWaP-optimized 2U Rack-Mount Meets Transit-Rack
7Starlake's rugged rack mount military computers are designed and built to very tight specifications with reliable, quality components, and tested thoroughly under worst-case conditions of their intended use.
HORUS430 is strictly designed to meet the requirements of Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP), MIL-STD 810G and MIL-STD 461, ensuring it can survive in the harshest operational environments.
2-4 10-Gigabit Ethernet Solutions for the Next-Gen Military Platforms
The dual-port 10GbE network interface is optimized on HORUS430 for server connectivity and network virtualization. It is designed to provide broad interoperability, critical performance optimizations, increased agility and multiple workloads for High Performance Computing (HPC), database clusters, clouds, as well as IT network solutions.
2-5 MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810G
HORUS430 is designed to meet strict SWaP requirements and to withstand harsh environments, including temperature extremes, shock/vibration, sand/dust, and salt/fog. HORUS430 is a MIL-STD 461/1275 EMI/EMC compliant rugged Edge AI Inference server.
