Taipei City Government is testing out a fleet of driverless buses for five nights, from today until Friday. The closed bus lane on Taipei''s Xinyi Road, Section 4 is the site of the nocturnal experiment.The buses scan their environment with radar to create a 2D map of their surroundings, and will drive at 20km per hour during the trial. Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je says his long-term goal is to turn the Xinyi Road bus lane into a route reserved just for driverless buses.
