Kaohsiung Mayor Tests Driverless Bus

Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chu visited the city’s Pier-2 Art Center today to take a test ride in Taiwan’s first driverless bus. She pronounced the experience smooth and enjoyable.A manufacturer is introducing automatic driverless buses to Taiwan, following the examples of Singapore and Japan. Each bus is worth tens of millions of dollars. However, current legislation restricts their operation to enclosed designated areas. The public will get their opportunity to try the bus at Kaohsiung’s EcoMobility World Festival in October.
